One of the most exciting and important features
of the Science Alive CD-ROMs is the inclusion of special icons
that link to learning objects, checkpoints and chapter
tests.

Learning objects use text, still or
moving graphics, video, audio or any combination of these media
to present information
to the student on specific topics. Each learning object links
to an associated eTivity. An eTivity tests the
knowledge presented in the learning object. The eTivity links
back to the learning object to allow the
information to be reviewed if necessary.

The checkpoints in the Science Alive CD-ROMs
provide an index to all learning objects in the chapter to that
point. They also link to five quick questions — a mini-test of
the content covered so far.

Checkpoint screen
Chapter tests contain ten multiple-choice
questions that are randomly generated from a larger pool of questions
— so
you can do these tests over and over with minimal chance of doing
exactly the same test more than once.
